I have the iPhone 6S and trying to transfer photos to the MacBook Pro. I am connected by a UBS and the phone is beeping with no dowloads

I have a iPhone 6S, trying to transfer photos to my MacBook Pro. I have the UBS in phone and Mac and the phone is beeping and no downloads to Mac. I have checked my settings and have the iCloud enabled. This beeping just started about a month ago. Up until then I could just plug and download. Any help would be great.

Is the phone recognized when you launch Photos or Image Capture manually?

If you have iCloud Photo Libray enabled on the iPhone and in Photos on your computer, your images should already have been imported and synced.
